This year the Woodland Ways team invite you, through our sister company, Desert Ways, to join us on our expedition to the Sahara Desert in Morocco, where we will teach you how to survive in one of the most unforgiving environments in the world.
We will travel and make camp in many different desert landscapes, where you will have the opportunity to develop the skills of our early ancestors, and utilise modern techniques, in order to survive and thrive in such challenging environments.
Beginning in Marrakech, you will be joined by our team of highly skilled and experienced instructors, support team, and vehicles. Here you will start a two day journey into the Sahara, wild camping along the route.
Upon arrival in the dunes you will build a fixed expedition camp that will be your home for the next six nights.
During this time you will learn how to source your water, light your fire, build your shelter, and find your food in a variety of desert environments. In addition to this you will devise and instigate your desert survival strategy, cover the practicalities of navigating over the wide expanses of sand, and discover various signalling techniques. In this area the 4x4 is our principal piece of survival equipment and so you will also learn the importance of vehicle choice and maintenance.
On our return journey we then head to the Altas Mountains where we will spend the night wild camping in the stunning cedar forests, a beautiful location in which to further consolidate your Bushcraft skills. We then return to civilisation with an overnight stay in the metropolis that is Marrakech.

So by joining us on this amazing trip not only will you have the opportunity to learn and practice new skills, you will also have the confidence that comes with being accompanied by a team of experienced desert survival instructors, and an expedition support team.
No prior experience is required for this course although a good level of physical fitness is essential.

We only require a deposit of £99 to secure your place. The balance is required 6 weeks prior to the expedition starting.
