Ghillie Kettle Adventurer 1.5L

The Ghillie kettle is the traditional kettle of the West of Ireland Fishermen.

It boils water quickly and easily in the windiest and wettest of weather without the need for artificial fuels. The "Adventurer" Ghillie kettle holds 1.5L of water and is made from aluminium.
It weighs 950g approx (without water inside)

It heats the water quickly and safely using dry grass, twigs, leaves and newspaper as the fuel.
It boils in approx 4-5 minutes depending on the fuel you are using.

So how does it work?:
You fill the kettle by pouring water into the spout and then put the whistle on.
The cone shaped chimney contains the combustible materials that are in the bottom of the pan on which the kettle sits.
You light the twigs/leaves in the pan and the flames rise through the middle of the chimney and heat the water.
There is a hole at the side of the bottom of the pan to allow more twigs, leaves etc to be added and it also allows oxygen to be sucked in as the flames rise. You can also add twigs etc down through the centre of the chimney but be careful as heat rises!

The whistle is a very good safety feature which blows when the water reaches boiling point and the kettle has a wooden handle for easy lifting and safe pouring of the water.

The Ghillie Kettle comes with full instructions and its own draw string carrying bag.
It is the only kettle on the market that has the safety feature of the whistle.

After boiling the kettle there are usually enough embers left in the pan to cook with (you may need to add some more twigs etc) you can rest your cooking pot on top of the pan once the kettle has been removed.

Ideal for camping, fishing and other outdoor pursuits.

Advantages: Quick, easy & safe way to boil water. Uses natural materials as fuel, no need to carry artificial fuel. Carry bag & instructions included. Whistle feature.

Disadvantages: For outdoor use only. Never allow the Kettle to boil dry.
