The Gransfors Axe File is a fine-toothed flat file designed for use on bigger nicks and if your axe is terribly damaged.The file is designed to re establish the edge and bevel face.

If the bevel edge is straight such as the Carpenter's Axe and Broad Axe the total bevel face should be in contact with the file.
