Gransfors Bruks Ceramic Grinding Stone

The Gransfors Bruks Ceramic Grinding Stone is the standard sharpening and honing tool for your axes.

Gränsfors Bruks have been unable of late to obtain enough quantities of the natural stone to keep up with demand of producing their natural stone axe stone. This has lead them to develop the ceramic stone, which has comparable properties to the natural stone.

Gränsfors Bruks are proud to present the new ceramic grinding stone.Gränsfors ceramic grinding stone is composed by ceramic abrasives. It has a coarse side with grain size 180 to deal with rough damages and a fine side with grain size 600 suitable for fine grinding and sharpening.
The stone is normally used with water, but can also be used dry. The stone is round and flat with a phase around the edges to prevent chipping. The fine side is 2/3 of the total thickness.
The stone has a protective rubber casing.

Diameter: 57mm
Weight: 160g

The stone is suitable for the touch up of minor imperfections and normal wear of your axe and to give the edge its original sharpness.

Clean the axe before sharpening. Use the stone with a circular motion, first with the course side then with the fine side. Rotate the stone in your hand so it will wear evenly. For a long lasting edge strop the axe blade on a leather belt after sharpening

Advantages:The stone can be used with or without water, it comes supplied in its own rubber housing for protection. Suitable for removing minor imperfections. It floats if you drop it in water!

Disadvantages: Not suitable for removing large dinks in the axe blade, we would suggest using the Gransfors Axe File first and then sharpening with the axe stone once the dinks have been removed.
