Hults Bruk Trekking Axe description :
These axes have been hand crafted since 1697.It takes many blows with a hammer to produce the axe's final shape. This method is costly but it increases the density of the steel thereby also improving the axe's durability.There are very few manufacturers in the world with craftsmen who still command this technique.
The hardening method leaves a clear hardened zone where the axe can be resharpened without detracting from the strength of the edge.The axes are hardened to 58-59 HRC. Used correctly these axes can last for generations. Hults Bruk axes are made from Swedish axe steel of consistently high quality and the handles are made from oiled prime hickory heartwood.
The Trekking axe comes supplied with a sturdy leather sheath and is packaged in an individual box. The length of the handle is 15” (37.5cm), and the weight of the head is 0.5Kg. Shaving sharp "out of the box".

Advantages: Hand forged in Sweden, supplied with leather sheath. Boxed so ideal as a gift.
Disadvantages: If you are wanting to use this axe for wood carving projects we would suggest using the mini hatchet as it has a shorter handle and therefore you will have more control on finer detailed work.
