The Mora 163 is a double edged crook knife making it suitable for both left and right handed people to use. It is also sometimes called a "spoon carving knife"

The Mora 163 Crook Knife has a full curve blade which (unlike the Mora 164) has a sharpened blade on both sides of the curve. The end of the blade is sharpened to a flat square end.

This is an ideal knife for carving spoons, ladles, cups & bowls or any other woodcarving project that requires gouging.

Crook Knife blade length: 75mm approx
Overall Crook knife length: 170mm approx
Weight 51g.

What do our instructors think? Jo writes:

"These crook knives are great and I wish I had discovered them earlier in life as they are such a great hobby..you get a massive sense of achievement from carving your own spoon or cup and these knives make light work of it. The handle is ergonomically designed so it is comfortable in the palm of your hand for long periods of time and gives excellent control of the blade when gouging out wood. They are really easy to use.”

Advantages: Comfortable to hold and work with, this model is designed for both left and right handed users. The Birch Handle gives a good grip and control. High quality Swedish steel blade.

Disadvantages: Does not come with a sheath or pouch so you will need to find something safe to store it in. Not the easiest knife to sharpen.
