Scandinavian Knife Making Kit description :
Are you tempted to try to make your own Scandinavian style bushcraft knife?
This kit contains the essential components for making a high quality bushcraft knife, including:-
A Blade - 9cm long, 1.8cm wide and 2.5mm thick. It is made from high quality 1770 Carbon steel (HRC 57). The blade extends with an "internal tang" that is 11cm long.
A Handle Block- made from curly birch measuring approx. 12cm x 3.2cm x 4cm.
A Reindeer Antler piece - 1.5cm thick. This piece is suited in size to the brass bolster and is ideal to include as part of the handle closest to the bolster.
A Sheath Leather - Vegetable tanned 2.5mm thick piece of brown stiffer leather for the sheath measuring 25cm x 12cm.
Inner sheath - made from strong plastic to give the sheath shape and to protect it from the blade.
String - approx 1m strong white string for stitching the sheath.
A Brass bolster - creates a strong and neat transition between the handle and the blade.
A Reindeer leather strip- a thinner approx. 40cm long vegetable tanned strip/thread of lighter flexible and very strong reindeer leather for the belt-hanger.

Advantages: Great for people who want to have a go at building their own knife but with the flexibility to personalise it. All the components are included, easy to follow instructions in English. Blade is made form Carbon steel therefore easier to sharpen than Stainless steel.
Disadvantages: Takes time to make – don’t rush it!
