This product needs no introduction surely.

The favoured water bottle design of all our instructors, and don't accept cheap versions, they will let you down. 1 Litre capacity.

Produced from a single component that is seamless and therefore has no weak points, SIGG bottles are tremendously durable and virtually unbreakable. (Even tested by Backpacker magazine in June 2006 where they fired a 100 pound cannon loaded with golf balls at a number of bottles on the market... and only one survived.

They are also tough on the inside due to SIGG's special, proprietary internal coating, these high-tech bottles are resistant to fruit juice acids, energy drinks, alcohol and virtually any consumable beverage. Because the liners are taste and scent neutral, you can enjoy any beverage you'd like – without any lingering smell or taste of the last beverage you drank. The composition of the liner also reduces the chances of bacteria build-up. And because the liner is virtually baked into the inner walls of the bottle, it will not flake or chip even if dented on the outside.

SIGG bottles are manufactured in an ecologically-friendly environment and are 100% recyclable after their very long lives. In fact, most SIGGs in Europe are still being used 10-20 years after purchase.

So what do our instructors think? Here Jason writes:

"What can we say, come on a course and you will see all of the instructors with one version or another of these fantastic pieces of kit... I think this speaks volumes. I also love the fact that as we ourselves are an environmentally responsible business, as are SIGG. The bottles are produced in an ecologically friendly environment and are 100% recycleable after there very long lives... expect to get 10+ years out of it".

Advantages: Strong, durable, relativly cost efficient, will not pierce in the woods, and has been proven over long periods of time.

Disadvantages: Errrm, we struggled here to be honest. I suppose you could argue that they are still bulky when empty, unlike a drinking bladder... but then again we would prefer this than to be relying only on a bladder and for it to puncture. You should never allow the water to freeze inside also, but this goes for most water bottles!
