This Sigg Insulation pouch is designed for the 1 Litre Sigg bottles and is made from black/silver Nylon.

It comes with the Sigg logo on the front and has a draw string closure and a belt/hanging loop.

It offers insulation to the bottle contents keeping cold drinks cold for up to 4 hrs and hot drinks hot for up to 2 hours. It also provides a degree of protection against the bottle becoming scratched or dented during use and has a water repellent coating.

What do our instructors think? Jason writes:

"To be honest I was sceptical when I first saw this, I had been surviving for years with no cover on my water bottle, but then in the winter of 2009 when things were really cold I field tested this. I was amazed that the cover kept the chill off my water and so in freezing conditions it was not uncomfortable to ingest the water. For every litre of icy water you ingest you can loose up to 1000 calories and so keeping the edge off the water is to me important. I also took this to the Sahara with me and low and behold… it kept my water just that little bit cooler. I have a high respect for Sigg bottles and so this cover is now a constant companion."

Advantages: Keeps colds drinks cold for up to 4 hrs and hot drinks hot for up to 2 hours. Stops your Sigg bottle getting scratched and dented and therefore keeps it looking new for longer. It has a water repellent coating so will resist soaking up water and thus making it heavier during a shower.

Disadvantages: In terms of keeping liquids hot or cold for prolonged periods of time it is not as good as an insulated flask but it is designed to give the best of both worlds from your Sigg bottle. It is not easy to drink out of the bottle without removing it from the pouch first because when you tip the bottle up it slips inside the pouch.
