Arrow Making 7th October
Come & join Joe at our Bedford centre as he instructs you through this hands on workshop on how to craft your very own arrow to take home. He will show and guide you on fixing the point and most especially the fascinating craft of hand fletching using turkey feathers with artificial sinew.
Craft your own arrow.
Spoon carving Workshop 14th October
Joe takes you through arguably one of the most enjoyable of forest crafts. On this 2 hour session you will learn how to free your very own spoon from a sustainably sourced billet of green wood! We will cover safe use of a fixed blade knife and folding saw as well as guiding you through the techniques most appropriate to spoon making.
Once you know how to go about it your imagination is the limit with spoon making. Of course there are many ways of making a spoon but the process covered here can be used to create anything from a teaspoon to a serving type ladle.
Already half the places for this truly moving Maasai Warrior Experience have already gone for the 2016 expedition. Don’t miss out on this wonderful trip of a lifetime, book now before all the places go.
Join the Desert Ways/Woodland Ways Team as we venture out to the cradle of human kind and the historic homeland of the Maasai as we visit the Rift Valley in Kenya and stay within a Maasai village. Throughout the expedition you will learn what it is like to be a Maasai, from the ancient traditions to the modern Maasai, you will be fully immersed into Africa and all its beauty.
