Edged Tools and Spoon Carving Day Course

This course is intended to provide you with a working knowledge to introduce you to the safe use of cutting tools, namely the axe, bushcraft knife, woodcarving knife and crooked knife in order to positivly produce working kitchen utensils, with our main aim of producing a spoon.

You will also be guided through tree identification and the different properties of different woods, in order to be exposed to suitable wood choice and selection.

You will learn how to select and collect the right wood in its raw state, split and rough out a blank and then proceed to carve a spoon which you will be able to take home with you.

We will also recommend further carving projects and if time allows produce other working kitchen utensils such as long handle spoons and spatchela, to practice your new found skills.

All tools and material are provided and are included in the price. Lunch will be gathered around the fire and consist of game.
