Teenagers Fundamental Bushcraft Course

Inspire And Educate Young Minds With This Great Introduction To Bushcraft For Teenagers.

Aimed at 12-17 year-olds, the Teenagers Fundamental Bushcraft Course is designed to promote self-awareness and a responsibility for the environment, within a woodland setting.

Parents are welcome to join the course if they wish although we actively encourage teenagers to attend without parental supervision to provide a more immersive experience!

Here you will spend two days and one night in our woodlands covering the Fundamental skills of Bushcraft, including fire lighting and management, campfire cooking, game preparation, shelter building, sleeping in your shelter, tracking and woodcraft.

The young people will learn the safe and correct methods of camp fire selection, build and maintenance. From sparks through to friction we will take them on a journey of fire and its importance to human development, and its applicable use in a modern context of wilderness travel. They will also build their own shelter entirely from natural materials which forms the basis for their overnight accommodation.

Wild food will be provided both in the feather and in the skin and course participants will be encouraged to prepare and cook every meal themselves over the campfire, breakfast consist of making their own damper bread.

If the instructors deem the young people have proved themselves, they will be rewarded with a knife skills session where they will be carefully taught how to carve green wood and produce kitchen utensils. This will then serve to make subsequent fire management and cooking sessions easier. They will also undertake some tracking games before retiring for the evening.

Overnight, males and females will sleep in separate shelters and our instructors will remain on site between the two camps for safety considerations. This course is ideal for those young people who have been inspired by books and television and an opportunity for them to join some REAL experts on wilderness living.

There are a number of companies out there offering experiences for young people in bushcraft at a number of different levels, and we firmly believe there is room for everyone.

This course is led by experts who teach bushcraft full time as their job. Your instructors will be drawing on a lifetime of experience of bushcraft from across the globe. We are safe, we are knowledgeable, and we are considered to be some of the best in what we do.
