FSC - Winter Trees A Photographic Guide

The AIDGAP Winter Trees Photographic Guide covers 36 of the common broad-leaved deciduous trees that are most likely to be found in the UK, as well as a few rarer trees.

Identifying trees in winter without their familiar leaves can appear a daunting challenge, but a closer look will reveal a multitude of slowly swelling buds. A quick glance at the bud summary photos in this guide instantly reveals their sheer diversity.

Generally they are extremely varied, and often easy to learn and remember. When you consider the difference between types of bark, size of tree and habitat, identification starts to become much easier than it seemed at first.

As always very quick service from the team. The book is great making identification of winter broadleaf trees simple through detailed pictures of their winter buds. There is a straightforward key at the beginning that divides bud types into two broad categories allowing easier id. Could be improved by making the volume slimmer to easier stow in a trouser pocket. Still that said it is the best I have come across. Simple guide with clear photos that has greatly aided my tree id.
